During the assembly of a gas valve, a white plastic plate with a rubber ‘o’ ring is used to seal two halves of a gas valve and prevent gas leakage. However, during assembly, it was possible for the ‘o’ ring to not be aligned and embedded correctly. This caused gas leakage after installation and so inspection of each valve was required to ensure the correct alignment.
NDT Consultants Ltd were faced with many challenges due to the seal being made of plastic and rubber, but after many exhaustive trails the problem was solved using digital radiography. As ndt inspection specialists, we focused on helping our client solve their problem.
