Developing people

NDT certification gives companies the peace of mind that their personnel are not only properly trained but also equipped to carry out NDT testing safely and effectively.

Only correctly qualified personnel should undertake the critical role of non-destructive testing. To make it easier for employers to implement and manage this, the various industry bodies have developed central NDT certification programmes.

The two main schemes are:

  • PCN (Personal Certification for NDT) developed by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT)
  • ASNT developed by the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT)

Nurture a true safety culture

Developing people is important.

Providing your NDT personnel with recognised qualifications improves in-house capability and supports the retention of experienced people. And having them learn from NDT experts, in a highly practical environment, means that training can be directly applied to tackle challenges and improve your business.

An investment in health and safety training can develop a positive health and safety culture in the workplace. It also greatly reduces the chances of litigation and compensation claims for accidents or illness.

Improve your in-house capability

Globally recognised safety qualifications

Our full suite of scheduled, on-site NDT training courses provides both practical instruction and formal qualifications – all with BINDT accreditation.

This is carried out to the requirements of major aerospace companies, aerospace subcontractors, air carriers, overhaul companies, automotive and general engineering companies. We’re very proud of the fact that our NDT courses are also accredited by aerospace prime contractors including: Boeing, Honeywell, Rolls Royce, British Aerospace, BAE Systems, Westland Helicopter, Dowty and TRW Lucas.

Complete training and certification services

The non-destructive testing courses held at NDT Consultants Training School cover the basic physical phenomena on which many industries rely for the safety and quality of their engineering systems and structures.

This is supported by extensive classroom teaching of the practical applications of the methods and comprehensive practical work in our well-equipped laboratory.

Our training centre is staffed by fully qualified personnel certified to PCN and ASNT Level III – the highest level of NDT certification available. They each have a wide range of industrial experience to complement their qualifications.

Comprehensive NDT courses portfolio

We offer individual Level I and II training courses in the following conventional and advanced NDT techniques:

  • Eddy current inspection
  • Etch inspection
  • Magnetic particle inspection
  • Penetrant inspection
  • Radiography and digital radiography
  • Thickness inspection (on request)
  • Ultrasonic inspection

After achieving Level I certification your technicians will be able to follow established procedures to conduct specific set tasks; Level II certification enables them to take on more responsibility, including supervising lower level technicians.

In addition, we also offer Level III certification for NDT personnel who’ve already successfully completed Level II.

Optional on-site training

By default, all our non-destructive testing training is held at NDT Consultants headquarters in Coventry. However, we can also deliver NDT training on your premises, depending on trainee numbers and availability of trainers at the time.

Unsure about which NDT course or qualification is right for you or your employees? Our health and safety experts can guide you through the various options that are available to you.

“I would like to endorse NDT Consultants for their professional service regarding training and consultancy enquiries and also on the level of training provided by the company is very comprehensive and all the candidates that I have sent there have commented on how much was learnt on these courses. The time it takes to receive results is normally two to three weeks which is at an acceptable time scale.”
